Sipping Coffee etc.

I wanted to respond to the newsletter in which you wrote.."Have you ever had the experience of reading something—especially something that later seemed more pertinent or profound than you might have initially thought—and then forgetting where you read it? And, after searching high and low, have you ever had the experience of finally finding what it was you were reading and suddenly realizing that the actual words on the page were not nearly as profound as you remembered them being?"

Yes! This happens all the time to me and I am convinced it is one of the ways the Holy Spirit teaches us important truths that are personal and meaningful to us. Certain ideas, expressed orally or in print, seem to "stick" to our consciousness and we keep returning to them again and again. Somehow the process changes thoughts which may originally be mundane into understandings that are quite profound and revelatory. Through the years, I have learned to pay attention to these events when they happen because I am almost certain they are a result of divine intercession in my spiritual life.
