I was moved by your thoughts in "Leaves of Autumn". I was recently musing about the Snow Queen story--didn't she leave a shard of ice in the young boy's heart? I need to look at the story again--fairy tales often have many layers of meaning.
I recently survived Hurricane Wilma. I had evacuated with co-workers and residents from our assisted living facility. The experience has hammered home my own mortality and fragility.
In an instant--all my "stuff"--could have been blown away. It has caused me to refocus and remember what "stuff" is important--not a bad state of mind to enter into the season of Advent.
