Don't know as much about Socrates as I should, but, I'm fairly certain he was relying almost totally on Reason and Intuition (in the form of his Daemon) to seek truth both within and without himself. This approach was apparently flawed because he never figured out that slavery was wrong and that women, too, might be capable of reason.
So...I guess you and I both perceive that his vision was limited.
But...you know? I bet he'd be the first to agree with us. After all, he was only human.
Hmmm...too bad he wasn't born a Jew. Then the history of Western Civilization might be entirely different. Then again...it's more likely that no one would have heard of him.
