Usually, when I finish reading one of Eric's newletters, I try to apply what I've learned to daily life. I'm that kind of person. I may stand and contemplate the beauty of the stars, but my feet are firmly stuck in the mud.
It seems to me that, as God's children and as co-creators with Him, we must strive to develop both our faith and intellect in order to serve Him wisely.
But this can be so difficult! We are all born with unique predispositions, talents and weaknesses and our personal histories affect the way we perceive the world.
Personally, I've noticed how rarely my body, mind, and spirit are all in harmony with each other and the Universe. When they are, it is truly "Heavenly" and I suspect it might be the "perfect love" alluded to in the Bible.
Now...my question is...since these occurrences are so rare, what should we do inbetween times? Pray...of course...but...how to act? "Pretend" to love the unloveable? Ask when we don't really believe we'll receive? Make a decision "for Christ", when, in reality, by temperament and inclination, we'd make (for example)...much better Hindus?
When we do these things, aren't we in much greater danger of falling into self-deception, insincerity, and hypocrisy?
Wouldn't it be wiser and more prudent to pray to the God above diversity and see where we are led...even if the destination is shrouded in mist, makes us feel uncomfortable, or inconsistent with our assumptions?
