Re (5): doubting doubt

Hey Sara,

This upcoming newsletter, the second installment of Peter Kreeft's Introduction, should interest you. I had actually thought to comment several times; in fact, that Sunday the pastor at the church I attend preached a message in which he talked about the fact that children were expectant (like children waiting for Christmas gifts), dependent (relying utterly on the hand that feeds), and (if I am not mistaken) transparent (or, if memory serves, lacking in pretension, anyway). I did not have a pen and failed to write them down later and I'm kind of shaky on that third point, though I am certain he mentioned the first two.

In any case, I was saying about Kreeft's article: I thought of you when I read it. But of course I did not choose to send the article based on that factor; it was merely coincidental. As a matter of fact, in thinking about framing this reply a day or so ago, I thought to myself: I just finished reading something somewhere about becoming like little children, but where? Perhaps I can cite the paragraph—I know Sara would like that—but where oh where did I read it? I soon realized I had read it in the second half of the article which I will be sending on August 3. (!) It's only a teensy, tiny little paragraph—you will have to keep your eyes peeled for it or you will miss it—but one very densely packed so that if you take the time to "re-hydrate" his ideas, you'll see much merit in them. I could just post that little paragraph here, of course, but since I'm an ogre and a meanie (it's my original sin nature), I'm gonna make you wait. :)
