Strictly speaking, I am not a Christian. I don't hold the conviction that Jesus Christ was bodily resurrected. This may sound odd, but, I am not NOT a Christian either. Perhaps it really did happen as it is told in the Gospels. I certainly don't think people who believe in the literal rather than metaphoric Resurrection are nitwits, like our friend Mr. Harris does.
Now this is going to sound even odder....I don't really care in what form the Resurrection took place. I love Christ, not because I hope for eternal life, but because I love Goodness/Love itself, and believe in the deepest part of me that THAT IS GOD and, therefore, HE is God. Is He the ONLY person to become God? I don't know and, again, I don't really care. It isn't important to me.
My faith is that I hope, when I die, to become a part of that Goodness/Love but believe, somehow, it has to be attained...it is not "a given". We must become that which we adore. I don't care if I retain a sense of personal identity, but it would be nice to be conscious in some sense.
So that's where I am and what I'm thinking about these days. I'm sure my understanding of Christ will evolve with time, but I don't know in which direction it will take me.
By the way, I've noticed that you always write such intelligent and insightful things to people. I think you must be a very sincere person. That's nice...
