Ouch! Seems like a bit of overkill.

Sara, you have mentioned before that you struggle with what to believe, as we all do at times, and you said not long ago that you were reading the gnostic gospels. I'm curious to know how your search is coming along and what you have found, as well as what has changed from then (March) for you spiritually.

You said that historical Christianity is different from spiritual Christianity, but historical Christianity is based on the bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ and His sovereignty over all things as God in the flesh. I know many people interpret His resurrection as something that was not physical - or in a sense "not real" but only a spiritual awakening, something available to all people everywhere without regard to sin or belief system, without any claim to Christianity, regardless of lifestyle, much like some religious systems teach an enlightened state of mind or being as the only important goal.

While I do not embrace every doctrine I've come across in my own journey through many churches, this is the very basic belief of both historical and modern-day Christians - the bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ - God in the flesh - what that meant to Jews as well as Gentiles, and what it means to us today.

You also said that Jesus as the Son of God and His resurrection are debatable, so I'm wondering what you think, how you fit these pieces together into your faith. I know that some people put Him on par with something like extraterrestials, something quite out of reach and foreign to our experience. In fact, I know that many Christians probably don't think much more of Him than that.

I don't mean to be probing, but it interests me to know how people come to their conclusions about God, how people think, and since you indicated you were on the journey, I just wondered about that.
