Re (4): Living Water

I have been really fascinated by your post on xanga regarding LTP and your comments here about learning.

I too find I learn best with a combination of listening, reading, writing - but most especially reinforcement works best for me in writing. I discovered that when I was learning a different language in high school. And of course, hearing it helped as well. Reading alone doesn't quite make it stick for me.

Along this line, I tried an experiement today. As I have been deaf in my left ear since early childhood due to a head injury, I tend to have "left neglect," which means I ignore everything to my left. I was typing a post onto my blog from a written copy, and decided to try putting the copy on my left rather than my right side.

As you may guess, I made a lot of errors. And in fact, my fingers seemed to get "lost" at times on the keyboard. But I think I'll try this some more, as I think it's good exercise to stimulate the "little grey cells" - (that would be my brain, folks, not my hair :)
