Saying "there can be no other way" seems to take away the idea of choice / free will. I think the whole idea of our freedom to choose a life (& eternity) with God or a life without him cannot be a Hobson's Choice (wherein there's really no choice at all). God gave us freedom to fall or not to fall in the Garden of Eden — similar to the choice we have to accept God today.
This is always a difficult idea to wrap my mind around — the idea that God is omnipotent and omnipresent throughout time and space and yet He has allowed us the power of choice.
