Hmmm. Interesting point of view. Years ago as a Mormon I was taught this very thing, that there was no other way, that the fall was necessary so that we could learn the good from the evil, that God knew and actually planned for the fall and redemption.

My question when one says, "There can be no other way," no other way for what? And why not? What did God hope to accomplish in willing us to fall, willing Himself to become flesh, be tortured and crucified? To me, it sounds like the thinking of a sadistic and masochistic madman.

But if indeed the fall was God's will, then I wonder what He hoped to accomplish thereby? Any ideas?
