Sara, about the "I'll never doubt again" experience: If anyone tells you they've had that and will never doubt again, doubt that. We all doubt, even those of us who have had "over the top" experiences. It is deep and abiding faith that anchors the soul, and it comes with experience, with walking with God over time. Just like a relationship between friends, lovers, spouses - you can get to the point when you look at one another and realize that what you have is stronger than any doubt, any storm, and more abiding. I can't exactly explain it: it's like a contentment, a security, a satisfaction - just a knowing that what you have is very special. If you have such a relationship with another human being, it is a rare and beautiful gift from God, that can give you a window into God. This is far more secure, far more satisfying, far more enduring than the flash of a spectacular experience. In fact, the subtle awareness you speak of is what becomes over time the realization of God's fingerprints all over your life.
