Yes, isn't it a pity what religion, and especially Christianity, has done to the world? Just think, had Jesus not come, we could all be living in a utopia like the lucky folks in Iraq, Afghanastan, Sudan, or choose any third world country. We wouldn't have to deal with so much inspired art, music, literature contaminating our minds with celestial ideas. We could mellow out in a really natural state, without any of the complicated discoveries the Christian world has come up with, including things like sanitation and medicine. And wouldn't the world be so much better off if we never had to think about such dismal ideas as loving one's neighbor or forgiveness, caring for the poor and helpless? It could be a regular free-for-all - with absolutely no one being free.
Maybe instead of worrying about whether there is more light or darkness in the world from religion, we should be more concerned about whether there is more light or darkness in our own soul.
