Yes, I would have to agree with you. The new immigrants, of course, were the source of the diseases, but such is a secondary issue. Another indirect factor that I did not mention concerning malnutrition was that the Buffalo population the Indians depended on was also decimated, often for sport or for hides. (Then too, of course, were the unsuspecting Buffalo that decided to cross the new train tracks at the wrong time, part of the reason the rail road wished to further their demise in the first place.) ;)
