LeeAnn: Thanks for your recent return post. You are right on in regards to Eric's newsletter. Its got something for both "seekers" as you say and vintage Christians. In others words, its well-rounded in its appeal. Those thoughts Eric and I shared with you are what I call "shelf-items" in that you read and study them but they are not meant to cause divisiveness. Though I like on occasion to read Luther and Calvin, etc. I find you have to seek God's guidance as you do. Then you will glean gems of truth from the chaff. However, I am really interested in as I said earlier in the "mere Christian" approach along the lines of apolegetics. Eric would as I would recommend C.S. Lewis for starters. Also, look at the concept of "worldviews" such as Biblical Christianity, Secular Humanism, New Age, Marxism/Leninism. One minister I highly recommend is Ravi Zacharias (www.rzim.org). He has a weekly radio program that presents a wide variety of subjects, especially on the New Age and Hinduism/Buddhism as he grew up in India then studied at Oxford University in England where C.S. Lewis was a professor. I'm saying study why these faiths parallel or don't with Christianity. Down the road you might want to take a look at the late Dr. Francis Schaeffer. He and Lewis amply demonstrate that Christianity can be rationally defended in these times of moral relativism and uncertainty. It will bless your heart! Well, enough for now, dear soul, talk to you later.-Francis
