when is a church not a church?

Eric,
I agree with you that there are no perfect churches here on earth. I have many times been sadly disappointed by the churches I attended and those bodies of believers where I tried to serve God.
My question is this: can a church that does not followed the Acts 2 description of a church truly be a church? Is it perhaps true that many groups of people who call themselves churches are not churches at all?
Just something to think about.
