I agree with you that many people express their identity either by retreating themselves in the world of the mind, or casting themselves into the world of action. If I followed your thread to Eric correctly you were making a connection between this presupposition and the issue of being discontent. My response was to suggest that the source of discontent probably doesn't lie in either of these two behaviors.
After sending my note last night I was thinking that Scripture bears this out. The author of Ecclesiastes writes an entire treatise on dicontent in which he wrestles with both the world of thought and of action. Do you find that you become discontent if you are forced to sit alone with your thoughts, unable to act?
