Hello everyone,
These three devotional entries came from the excellent book of daily devotions entitled Letting God: Christian Meditations for Recovering Persons by A. Philip Parham. While Parham writes with the addict in mind (hence the frequent mention of the Twelve Steps and recovery), I believe that his writing applies to us all regardless of where we have been. And in one sense, no matter where we have been, Christ’s path of peace is a daily form of recovery and growth toward unity and wholeness in mind, body, and spirit; it has been well said that it doesn’t matter where we have been, but where we are going. There is something special about heading toward Christ Jesus. As Parham writes, “It is amazing how little control Jesus exerted over others. His power was the power of attraction, not force or manipulation.”
God bless,
Eric
